Afrikan women from various cultures have wrapped their crowns in gorgeous fabrics to send messages, adorn themselves and honour their destinies. In this workshop, we will learn the cultural significance of our heads and of wrapping in some Afrikan cosmologies (yes, of our heads), contemplate ways in which we honour our crowns, and execute 3 different headwrap styles of varying creative execution.
You will leave the workshop more confident in your Afrikan crown, with handling some of the tricky parts of wrapping, and knowing what to do with what remains after you sew a dress. Step out, wrap and rep your crown.
*Carry a leso/khanga with you to wrap your crown with. Some will also be available for sale at the workshop
